I like the idea but I'm too scared to come alone.

There is no need to be! You can bring a friend if you don't want to come alone. Attending our events is a positive step toward making new friends and possibly meeting a partner. If you don't take a chance, you will never know...

 

I don't get it, there are loads of bars I can go to, why do I have to pay for your party?

There are loads of bars but not everyone goes out with the idea of making new friends or meeting prospective partners. The London gay scene can be cold and too sexually focused. We are providing events which are different. You have more chance of meeting that special person or increasing your circle of friends if you are surrounded by guys on the same wavelength as you.

What kind of  people will be there?

People like you! We welcome all backgrounds and believe that diversity makes things more interesting. You may meet someone you would not normally have the chance to. Our guests have included architects, ballet dancers and lawyers. The average age range is around 25 to 45 but you are more than welcome if you fall outside of this.

What can I expect from the evening?

We will be there to greet you and put you at ease. We will give you a name badge and our hosts/hostesses will help you to mingle with other guests or anyone who catches your eye. It really is a fun night and after a couple of drinks you will wonder why you are not already an urbanconnections regular! We want everyone to have fun and be comfortable whether you are a social animal or the shy, retiring type. The amount of interaction is really up to you!  

Can I bring my friends?

You are welcome to bring your friends (male or female) but please remember the idea is to mingle with other guests, not to stay with your friends all night. If  your friend will help you to talk to other guests, thats fine!

What happens at a speedating party? 

On arrival you will be given a note card and a name badge. You can grab a drink at the bar and take a seat. You can expect to have a series of at least 20 dates with other single guys. You can make notes on your card about every date. We will be stopping for breaks so you can have another drink and gather your thoughts. At the end of the dating, you decide who you would like to see again as a friend or date. We will email you the next day with your matches, ie other guys who also want to see you again. Simple! After that, it's up to you.

Dress to impress: first impressions count.

Be yourself. You are fabulous.

Think of some interesting questions beforehand. It can be very repetitive to ask 30 people the same questions!

Relax! Everyone at our events wants to make new friends. The atmostphere is friendly so dont worry about coming alone.
